For the last several years Rhode Island Red has joined me at Bunky's Breakfast in Helena, Arkansas during the Arkansas Blues and Heritage festival AKA The Biscuit. So when I was recording "For My Dad" last summer I called this one "Rhode Island Rag" after my friend Jim Chapin who is Rhode Island Red.
It was pretty windy so I used my Lawrence pickup. On the other channel I tried my favorite mic for recording acoustic guitar, a Realistic 1070b, with a wind filter. This worked great at suppressing the wind noise. The audio from the video camera has plenty and the 1070b almost none.
